Events coming up around the area for Canada Day

Elkhorn and Redvers both have major events set for the Canada Day weekend, and it will be the grand opening of the Borderland Co-op Aquaplex in Moosomin.
Elkhorn’s Canada Day festivities start with a pancake breakfast.
There will be a barbecue at 1 pm, and a parade at 1:30 from the fair grounds through town to the Manitoba Automobile Museum grounds.
Events at the museum grounds in the afternoon include a blacksmith display, beer gardens, threshing display, touch-a-truck, and saw mill demonstrations.
There will be a supper at 5:30 pm followed by a spark show and fireworks at dusk.
Events in Redvers start with the Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast from 8-10 am, a slow pitch tournament all day, a parade at 1 pm, a kids’ firemen’s rodeo from 9-11:30 am and 2-4:30 pm, a dunk tank at 2 pm, free swimming in the pool, beer gardens, a roast beef and baked potato supper catered by P&A Catering at 6 pm, Canada birthday cake at 7 pm, and fireworks at 10 pm.
In Moosomin, Canada Day will be marked with the grand opening of the Borderland Co-op Aquaplex. The day will feature free public swimming 1-5 pm, a barbecue with hot dogs, drinks and cupcake decorating from 1-3 pm, and tattoos, coloring sheets, and chalk art from 2-5 pm.
There will also be an open house at the Moosomin Armoury from 2-4 pm to mark Canada Day.
