"It has come to Moosomin RCMP's attention that there is a group of approximately 14-year-old youths running around Moosomin in the wee hours of Sunday night/Monday morning," said Sgt Scott Fefchak.

"One of those youths has been identified, however no crime was known to have been committed so no police action will be taken.

"The group running around together is not in the spirit of social distancing and in general not a good idea for 14-year-old kids to be running around at that time of night for obvious reasons.

"If you've been 14 you are familiar with how quickly things can happen that are not planned but in hindsight very dumb.

"We're asking for parents to ensure they know where their kids are and maybe double check they aren't sneaking out at night."

Fefchak said there have been no instances of mischief or vandalism in the Moosomin area, but that has happened in other areas.

"There have been instances of youths in neighbouring areas using their newly found free time to explore, in some cases committing break and enters and causing damage," he said. "We'd prefer to not have to go there here, and are asking for the parents assistance on this."
