The community cleanup has been a success in past years, with lots of volunteers coming out, from kids and families to businesses, individuals and groups who want to keep Moosomin looking good.

Moosomin will be holding its annual community cleanup this Sunday, May 24, and volunteers who participate will have a chance to win one hour of simulator time at the Sportsplex.

The cleanup will start at 1 pm on Sunday, and volunteers are being asked to meet at the town office and bring gloves and wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Both volunteers and vehicles will be needed that day, and volunteers will be designated different areas of town for the cleanup, so that all of the public areas around the town are covered.

There will also be free landfill access that day from 9 am to 5 pm as a way to encourage people to clean up their yards for the spring.

An added bonus this year will be a chance to win time on one of the simulators at the Sportsplex. Volunteers can enter to win by snapping a photo of their family during the cleanup and emailing it twn.moosomin@sasktel.net.

The purpose of the community cleanup is to keep Moosomin looking clean and spruced up for the summer months.

Anyone is welcome to participate in the cleanup, and volunteers are being asked to call or text Greg Nosterud at 435-9406 to let him know they are coming, or to show up that day at the town office at 1 pm.
