Fire Ban coming into effect in Town of Moosomin

A fire ban will come into effect in the Town of Moosomin at 12:01 am Thursday, April 8

A fire ban is coming into place in the Town of Moosomin effective 12:01 am Thursday, April 8.

The total fire ban includes any fire of any type within the town, including in wood burning fire pits, and also bans fireworks.

Covered charcoal, natural gas or propane barbecues and camp stoves are permitted.

The cost of fire prevention, suppression, and emergency response services will be charged to the individual who receives the services.

The fine for contravening the bylaw is $1,000 for the first offence, $2,000 for the second offence, and $3,000 for the third and any subsequent offence.

Fire bans are also currently in place in the RMs of Moosomin, Martin, and Maryfield in Saskatchewan, and the RM of Wallace-Woodworth in Manitoba.

A fire advisory is in place in the RM of Silverwood.
