Massive grass fire burns north of Moosomin

A massive grass fire burned out of control north of Moosomin on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
The fire was located approximately four miles north of Moosomin on the west side of Highway 8.
High winds caused the fire to spread and to move extremely quickly.
Large plumes of smoke billowed across Highway 8.
Highway 8 was closed for part of the afternoon and traffic was detoured east.
The highway was reopened later in the afternoon.
