Fatal house fire at Roblin

At approximately 10:00 am on December 26, 2017, Roblin RCMP responded to a house fire in the RM of Roblin.

Upon arrival, first responders were notified that an elderly male, age 85, was still in the burning residence.

Firefighters entered the residence, located an unresponsive male and carried him outside. Attempts to revive the male were unsuccessful and he was pronounced deceased on scene.

The only other occupant of the house, a 58-year-old female, made it out safely prior to the arrival of first responders. She was not injured.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner has determined the cause of the fire to be accidental.
