Two snowmobile fatalities in Manitoba

There were two snowmobile fatalities in Manitoba over the weekend.
Carberry RCMP and Rivers Police Service responded to a fatal snowmobile collision Sunday, while the Powerview RCMP responded to a fatal collsion Saturday.
On Sunday March 11, just after 5:00 pm, officers from the Carberry RCMP along with the Rivers Police Service responded to a report of a snowmobile collision, in the RM of Riverdale, on the Little Saskatchewan River. The collision occurred approximately 15 kilometres southeast of Rivers near Provincial Road 270.
A 29-year-old male, from Oakview, was travelling northbound in the trail system when it appears he drove over the edge of a ravine bank, dropping approximately 20 metres and landing on the frozen river below. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
The deceased was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and it is unknown if alcohol or speed played a factor.
On March 10, 2018, just after 11:00 am, the Powerview RCMP responded to a report of a snowmobile collision on Snoman Trail #220, approximately 45 kilometres north of Broadlands Road in the RM of Alexander.
A 33-year-old male, from Winnipeg, was travelling on the Snoman trail when it appears he lost control of his snowmobile and veered off the trail colliding with a tree. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
The deceased was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Powerview RCMP continue to investigate.
