Virden meth user held until sober

Police say a 22-year-old man from Virden was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre Sunday after he came into the Brandon Police Service station in a methamphetamine-induced paranoia.

According to police, at 4:36 a.m., the man came into the station in distress, believing he was being followed and his life was in danger.

The man allegedly admitted to police that he had recently used methamphetamine.

He was checked into hospital and was medically cleared.

Police say he was kept at BCC to be released when sober.
