On July 30, 2018, at 9:30 p.m., a report was made to the Tisdale RCMP Detachment of an attempted child abduction.

An unknown adult male driving a white, 4 door truck with rust along the bottom of it, approached two children on 100 Street in Tisdale, offering them candy and a ride home.

The male was described as wearing glasses, having short brown hair, possibly in his thirties, and of a darker complexion.

There were some passengers in the vehicle as well, and the truck model was believed to be a Dodge.

A vehicle license plate was not obtained.

The involved children were aged six and nine, both female, and they declined the offer without incident.

Police made extensive patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle, nor identify the individuals involved.

The investigation is ongoing.

Tisdale RCMP are reminding parents and guardians to be vigilant of their children's whereabouts and safety.
It is important that children are spoken to about "stranger danger" and told not to accept gifts or rides from strangers, nor to approach within reach of strange vehicles.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Tisdale RCMP at 306-878-3810, contact any local police service or RCMP detachment, dial 310-RCMP, contact Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip on-line at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
