Four Westman men charged with kidnapping

Christopher Drover of Brandon made his first court appearance in Regina Provincial Court on July 30, 2018 on kidnapping charges His next scheduled court appearance will be in Swift Current Provincial Court on August 14

Robert Ballingall, David Joss and Christopher Roskam remain in custody. They appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court at 9:30 this morning.

On July 24, 2018 the Regina Provincial General Investigation Section (GIS) with assistance from Brandon Police Service arrested four suspects in Brandon without incident, in relation to a kidnapping investigation that originated in Swift Current.

On June, 13, 2018, at approximately 10 p.m., Swift Current Municipal RCMP received a complaint of a kidnapping that had taken place earlier that day.

Two adult males reportedly forced another adult male from a residence and into a vehicle and then drove away.

The victim was reportedly able to escape from a residence in Brandon the following day and made his way back to Saskatchewan where he advised RCMP of what had occurred.

At no time was there a concern for public safety as this was not a random incident.

The following all face charges of Kidnapping under section 279 (1.1)(b) of the Criminal Code:

Christopher Steven DROVER (born 1971-05-29), Brandon MB

David Denis JOSS (born 1967-12-17), Neepawa, MB

Christopher Lee ROSKAM (born 1991-09-01), Brandon, MB

This investigation remains ongoing with assistance from Brandon Police Service and Swift Current Municipal RCMP.
