On Sunday, November 18th at 12:24 P.M., members from the Yorkton Rural RCMP Detachment received a report of several dead cattle that had been discovered by a local farmer, near a land location in the Saltcoats, Sask. area.
Investigation into this matter has confirmed that five cows had been fatally shot and a sixth cow had been wounded. Estimate of losses to the owner of the cattle are approximately valued at $10,000. The matter remains under investigation with assistance being provided by the Yorkton Forensic Identification Section, Yorkton Police Dog Services, Yorkton Provincial GIS Section, local veterinary services and SERM.
Police are urging members of the public to contact police if they have information about this or any other crime.
