On Monday, March 4, just after 2:00 p.m., Virden RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal two-snowmobile collision.
The collision occurred adjacent to the Trans Canada Highway about 2 KM west of Virden.
Initial investigation indicates a male snowmobile operator had become stuck.
A second rider was assisting when he was struck by an oncoming snowmobile.
The injured rider, a 50-year-old man from the RM of Wallace, was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
There were no other injuries reported.
An RCMP traffic Collision Analyst will be assisting with the investigation.
