Collison with stolen vehicle near Whitewood

On September 28 at 2:00 pm members of the Broadview and Esterhazy RCMP Detachments responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 9 approximately 16 km north of Whitewood.

A northbound van struck a southbound pickup truck. The driver of the van and lone occupant of the vehicle was trapped inside. He was removed by people on scene and transported to Regina Hospital by STARS Air Ambulance with serious injuries. The driver and lone occupant of the pickup truck was not seriously injured.

The van had been stolen from a business in Whitewood shortly before the collision.

A Collision Analyst from the Estevan Highway Patrol was on scene for several hours after the accident assisting with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
