Whitewood Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is opening an off-site sales office in Moosomin Wednesday, the first step to a new Chrysler dealership in Moosomin.

A new dealership is planned for Moosomin but until it can be built, Whitewood Chrysler will have an off-site sales office at the Mazergroup Ford New Holland dealership just north of the Trans-Canada Highway on Highway 8.

“We will have a sales person in Moosomin starting Wednesday,” said Whitewood Chrysler General Manager Tim Kaban.

“We will be mirroring Mazergroup’s hours of operation, which is Monday to Friday 8-5, and Saturdays 8-12 initially.

“We will always have one sales rep at the location.

“We are moving vehicles to Moosomin. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we’ll be moving a few out.

“Our off-site sales office will be in place until we take possession of our building.

“I think it’s going to be busy. The excitement is there. There will be vehicles on site so people can check out what product we have to offer, and because we will have a sales rep there, they can always bring a vehicle to Moosomin for people to look at if we don’t have what they want on site in Moosomin.

“A little friendly competition is always good. It will help the community for sure. It will make the community a one-stop shop. They can come check out Chev, they can come check out Ford, and now they can check out Dodge right in Moosomin too. People will be coming to the community to shop for a new vehicle, and they might go to the Red Barn for supper or go for lunch and do whatever else they need to do in Moosomin.”

Kaban said that having the off-site sales office in Moosomin initially should make things easier when it’s time to open the permanent dealership.

“It lets us ease into it,” he said. “It’s a new store, a new location. It will prepare us for when we are ready.”
