Raymond Arnold Rookes

Sorrowfully we announce the passing of Ray on January 20, 2023 in the Moosomin Hospital at the age of 90 years.
Ray was born on a farm between Manson and Moosomin to Arthur and Alice Rookes. He was raised on the farm near Manson.
At a young age he decided to be a trucker and he pursued that.
On August 2, 1957 he married Diana Green from Moosomin.
Later in years he taught her how to drive a semi and they drove double for Arnold Bros. for ten years.
They had a good life in their travels—for 36 years they travelled south to Yuma, Arizona to miss the winters, eight times to Hawaii, and they took many fishing and camping trips.
Ray was predeceased by his mother and dad, brother Lyle, and son-in-law, Gary Boyenko.
He leaves his wife, Diana, step-daughter Cheryl Boyenko, her sons Colin and Ryan and their families and Lynne (Lyle) Rookes and boys Barry and Aaron and families.
He also leaves three sisters, Denice (Addie) Jamieson, Carol (Henry) LaRose, and Cherlyn (Ken) McCulloch and their families.
Cremation has taken place. The burial will be at the Manson Cemetery in April.
He was loved and is greatly missed by all.
