Kyle Wayne Smyth, born Wednesday, May 23, 1984 was brought home in smiles by his parents Hugh and Debra Smyth to Wawota.
He was the loved youngest grandson, cousin, and nephew to an amazing family.
He is survived by his dad, Hugh; his wife Andrea and their two beautiful boys Holden and Hale; his new-found siblings Amber, Vlad, Kerina, Haskel, and Thomas and his nieces and nephews Alexander, Julian, Lauren, Gabriel, Emily, Hazel, Adylyn, Braxton and Cohen.
Kyle is preceded in death by his mom, Deb.
In his younger years he was a rambunctious, happy, active and funny boy—keeping his parents, family, and community on their toes.
Due to his love of loud music he was given the nickname of “Ozzy” at a young age. This nickname became part of his personality and known to his community from then on.
His friends, found in his youth, enveloped him in their care and some carried him home.
Kyle met his wife Andrea in 2009. It amused both of them how they had lived 15 minutes from each other all their lives and had never met—as it was literally the day before Facebook.
The intermingling of family and friends brought great humour and happiness to the young couple.
In 2015, Kyle became a daddy for the first time when welcoming his son Holden Lee into the world. His next treasure was born two years later in Hale Thorvald.
Kyle was made to be a dad. The love, care and devotion to his boys was absolute and unrelenting—and so was the wrestling and dorky play with them.
Kyle was there for almost every hockey, soccer, baseball or football practice and game. Playing mechanic to their dirt bikes, watching them learn to snowboard, helping them learn to grow into what he will now only imagine—as strong, caring funny men.
During family events with his dad, and father-in -law Gordon, Kyle was bit by the tractor bug. Finding, restoring, hauling and showing his metal treasures was his passion and possibly even an obsession. The look of pride on his face while driving his tractors, often with one of his boys on his lap, was a sight to see.
Kyle Wayne Smyth, daddy extraordinaire, passed away the morning of November 11, 2023, after a tragic and heartbreaking accident that occurred while taking part in a community event that he loved.
I want to thank everyone who helped that night, because even though we were unable to save Kyle, it allowed the family to have time to say goodbye.
He passed that morning with his tunes playing as loud as we could, and both his hands held tight.
We will mourn Kyle, and we also need to celebrate his life and memories as the legacy he will leave behind. So crank some tunes, blow some eardrums and make sure he hears us.
