It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Arthur passed away at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre – Long Term Care, Moosomin on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the age of 88 years.
Arthur was born to John Isaac and Elsie May McLeod just north of Welwyn on October 12, 1935.
He grew up with eight brothers, two sisters and three half-sisters on the family farm.
Arthur attended Ferndale School, then as a young adult enjoyed curling, hunting, and farming.
He loved all animals but especially his horses and cattle. He had a hauling business that hauled bales and cattle for neighbours.
Later in life he attended the local dances and met the love of his life Hilda Henderson. They were married in 1986. Together they enjoyed the local dances, gambling tours and baseball games. After a courageous battle with cancer, Arthur lost Hilda in 2001.
Arthur is predeceased by his beloved wife Hilda, father John, mother Elsie, brothers Bob, Jack, Albert, Allan, sister Grace, and half-sisters Mary, Evelyn, and Hazel.
He is survived by brothers Bruce, Don, Tom and Richard, sister Deane and many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his generosity and kindness and will be missed dearly by many.
Arthur’s family would like to thank the staff and physicians at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre and Long-Term Care, Moosomin for their compassionate and competent care for him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to C.R.O.W. or a charity of your choice in memory of Arthur.
