Ormond Alfred Baily was born to William and Clara Baily on February 4, 1938, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Ormond had four older siblings: Edith, Gordon, Edward, and Hazel, as well as two younger sisters Evelyn and Elaine.

At a young age, Ormond’s parents moved the family to Oak River, Manitoba where Ormond helped on the farm. Years later, the family relocated along the Saskatchewan/Manitoba border district.

Ormond finished his schooling in Manson, Manitoba, while looking after the responsibility of the family farm due to his father’s illness.

Ormond met Irene Cowan from McAuley, Manitoba, and they were married on February 9, 1963 in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. They resided at the same family farm for three years, which they then took over in 1966.

Ormond and Irene raised five children: Frank, Carl (Michelle), Sheila (Barry), Lorna (Glen), and Lorne (Deb). They were blessed with 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Ormond’s love for farming was evident in his interest for anything that was ‘John Deere.’

As well, he was passionate for his Lord, Jesus Christ, and walked a Christian walk most of his adult years. He is now in the presence of his Saviour!

Ormond is predeceased by his parents, brothers Gordon and Edward, sister Hazel, brothers-in-law Owen Gordon, Raymond Marshall and George Breckenridge, sister-in-law Gloria Baily and twin sons Dale and Doyle.

Ormond is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irene. They were able to celebrate this event in June of 2023 with many family members and friends. He is also survived by his five children.

The family would like to thank everyone (too numerous to mention) for the outpouring of love, meals, flowers, visits and cards during this difficult time.
