Art passed away peacefully at age 95. He was predeceased by parents Peter and Martha Natalie (Kempin), and wife Joan (Johanna van de Kooij).

Art is survived by siblings Bruno, Hilda, Alma and Bill (Sonia); many nieces and nephews; and cousins in Canada and Germany.

Born in Poland, Art’s family immigrated to Canada in 1928 where they farmed at Wapella, Sask.
A WWII Canadian Army veteran, he served in North Africa and Europe from 1943 to 1946, and was wounded three times.

He married in Holland in 1946, moved to Calgary, then back to Holland in 1978 until Joan’s passing in 1989. He then moved to Langley, B.C., where he lived until his passing.

Art was a brave, determined, kind, easy-going man who will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A memorial for family was held in Nanaimo, B.C.

Safe in the arms of Jesus.
