Daisy Illene Redfern (Lincoln) passed away at the age of 97 on June 7, 2014.

Illene was born July 17, 1916 in Libby, Montana U.S.A. She took her schooling in Wawota, Sask., and got her teaching degree at the Normal School for Teaching in Regina. She enjoyed teaching in one room schools and also modern schools in Moosomin where she retired in 1976 due to health concerns.

Illene married George Douglas Redfern in 1944 (predeceased in 1975) and they had three sons, Ken (Liz); Dale (Ann); and Terry. She had four grandchildren, Warren; Andrea (McLeod); Sandra (Moody) and Candace (Patrick). She had seven great-grand-children, Lauren and Carter McLeod; Kayden, Emerson and Lincoln Moody; Cameron and Lexi Patrick.

In her lifetime, Illene enjoyed sports, dancing, spending time at her cottage, camping with the family and her gardens. She was an avid reader and worked on many needlework projects. She was a devoted Anglican and worked countless hours for the church.

In her retirement years, she loved to be with her friends, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered by her always pleasant smile and her joy of life.

A funeral service was held at St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Moosomin, Sask. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent in Illene’s honor to St. Albans Anglican Church in Moosomin, Sask.
