Evelyn Merle Frondall passed away on April 23, 2014 in the Westman Nursing home in Virden, Man., in her 77th year.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Vernon, and sons Bradford (Valarie) and Craig (Lore); five grandchildren: Nicholas, Devrin, Dylan, Matthew and Reanda; mother Francis Leslie; sister-in-law Sharon Leslie; brothers Lloyd (Wilma), Gerald (Colleen), brother-in-law Fred Frondall (Edna); and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by in-laws Ted and Lewella Frondall; father Leonard Leslie; brother Donald Leslie; and niece Wanda Leslie.

Evelyn was born to Len and Francis Leslie on June 24, 1937 in Elkhorn, Manitoba. Evelyn grew up on the Mooney farm four miles south of Elkhorn. She attended Buckingham school and Elkhorn school. Upon completing school, Evelyn started teaching music and Sunday school and worked at Rudd’s Grocery Store in Elkhorn.

Evelyn married the love of her life, Vern Frondall, on June 22, 1957. They lived in Fleming where Vern was the elevator agent for the Federated Co-op. She enjoyed curling and getting together with family and friends.

They moved to the farm five miles northeast of Fleming in 1964 where they resided until the year 2000. They then retired and moved to Elkhorn. They enjoyed 13 years in Elkhorn before moving to Westman Residence in Virden due to her health.

Evelyn loved gardening and enjoyed cooking, watching hockey, curling, ball, doing puzzles and crossword puzzles. She liked to visit and have fun with family and friends.

The celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. on May 2, 2014 at Carscadden Funeral Chapel in Virden, Manitoba. There will be a family interment at Elkhorn cemetery at a later date.
