Harold Scutt passed away peacefully at Moosomin on September 1, 2014.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; his children, Allan of Maryfield; Kathy and her husband Peter of St. Albert, Alberta; and Albert of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren, Kaylin (Blake), Benjamin (Tara), Timothy (Elizabeth), Hannah, Reza, Ade, Rebecca, and Bianca; and by Marilyn’s children, Richard (Tana), Mary, and David (Tammie) and their children.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary-Lou; infant daughter, Barbara; and his brothers, Murrey, John and Stanley.

Harold was born near La Fleche, and lived his pre-teen years at Fir Mountain. Dad always had a special love for the beauty of that area. He was 10 when the family moved due to the severe drought and settled south of Fleming. Dad attended Fairfield school.

He was a farmer and took great pleasure in the rewards of farm life, feeding his family with beef from his pastures and wild game from the Pipestone Valley. He was an excellent horseman and used a team to haul hay as late as 1995.

Harold and Mary-Lou raised three children on the farm, and he shared his love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and travel with his family. Dad was happiest outside, especially with a fishing rod or around a campfire. He especially enjoyed several trips to the Yukon.

Harold married Marilyn in 2005 and had happy years living in Moosomin and travelling to the Dominican Republic and Northern Canada.

He was hard working and wise, with a deep knowledge of anything related to the outdoors. He was a good gardener, and painted many lovely pictures. He loved his family and he will be greatly missed.

The funeral was held at St. Alban’s Anglican Church with interment at Fleming cemetery.
