Christina Penney of Langbank, Sask. passed away suddenly with her husband Robert on Jan. 25, 2013.

Tina is survived by her children, Patsy (Vern) Mackey of Redcliff, Alta., Linda Kilford of Brock, Sask., Dorothy (Dan) Jay of Chilliwack, B.C., Donna (Ken) Kilford of Brooks, Alta., William (Jeanie) Penney of Langbank, Sask., and Kenneth Penney of Langbank, Sask.

She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one sister Ivy Davidson, one brother Alfred Twells, sister-in-law Maxine Twells and brother-in-law John Tomman and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her mother and father, Elizabeth and John Twells, her siblings, Elsie Pryer, Doris Tomman, Georgina Toews, Florence Twells, Cyril Twells, Bill Twells and Russell Twells; brothers-in-law Gilbert Pryer, John Davidson and Cyril Hornby.

Christina was born to Elizabeth and John Twells on a farm near Craven, Sask. Her family moved to Brookside area when Christina was five years old. In 1948, at the age of 18, she married Robert Penney and moved to a farm outside of Langbank, Sask.

Together they farmed in the Langbank area until 1986 when they moved into Langbank. After retirement they would travel to Calgary in the winter to spend time with Grandma Penney and stay until spring. After Grandma passed, they continued to spend winters in Calgary until 2010. They moved to Green Street Apartments in Whitewood, Sask., in July 2011, where they remained until they passed.

Christina enjoyed curling and attending local baseball games. She also liked to quilt. She loved to play cards and do puzzles. She enjoyed camping but never liked the water. Tina enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as visiting with neighbors and friends.

She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her.
