Bob was the only son of James and Mary Amelia Carradice. Having been born at the beginning of the Great Depression, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, pond hockey and baseball in his youth.

On August 3, 1957 he married Moira Carmichael, a teacher at Mossgiel. They recently celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Bob suffered a mixmill accident in 1978. This kept him down for a while but he soon bounced back and continued farming, playing cards and pool. Bob enjoyed a game of bridge and the games went on until the wee hours of the moring. Summer vacations to the northern U.S.A. and western Canada were a pleasant break from the farm chosres, as was a game of pool during the rainy weather or winter evenings.

Bob passed away on August 27, 2014 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. He is survived by his wife Moira; sons Murray and Glen (Anne); grandchildren Moriah, Lemuel, Naomi and Tirzah; sisters Ina Hartley and Irene Hyde; brother-in-law David Minkus; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his parents James and Mary; sisters Helen Snell, Jean Franklin, Berniece Mitchell and Mary Canart; sister-in-law Janice Minkus; brothers-in-law Bill Mitchell, Bruce Franklin, John Canart, Albert Hyde and Dave Hartley.
