Alex passed away November 2, 2014 in his 76th year at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre with his loving family by his side.

Alex was born November 26, 1938 and was the fourth of seven children born to Albert and Lila Addison. He was born and raised in the Cherry Grove District where his parents farmed. Alex married Evelyn McAuley of Moosomin, Saskatchewan and later the two went on to have three children: Kim, Wanda and Darren.

Alex was a mechanic by trade, and when he was younger worked in various mechanic shops over the years. He then went to work for the RM of Archie in 1975 where he continued to work until he retired in 2000.

Alex had a real musical talent. He had an incredible knack for being able to pick up any instrument that was put in front of him and just start playing any song by ear. In his younger years if you were at a party with him, you would have had the opportunity to witness his talents. He had a beautiful voice and always loved to pick up the guitar and sing after he had had a few . . . !

You could always count on Alex if you needed a helping hand. You could just call him and he was there. He didn’t like to sit still too long, so therefore was either tinkering in his garage, helping friends or family, or was on the road to see his grandchildren in concerts, or sports events.

Alex was an avid sports fan. He loved to watch his three children play ball, and was a real fan of the McAuley Blazers. For years Alex and Ev took in billets from the United States that played with the McAuley Blazers. Hockey was his favorite sport to watch and he just couldn’t get enough of it. If he wasn’t running to one of the many hockey games that his grandchildren had, he was watching it on TV.

Alex was a handsome devil and had a sense of humor like none other! You just never knew what was going to come out of his mouth! His sense of humor and his friendly, helpful and caring manner made him so easy to love. Alex was a real family man and was very close with his immediate and extended family. He will be missed by so many.

Alex leaves to mourn, his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Addison; daughter Kimberly (Hank) Huberdeau, daughter Wanda (Allan) Parker, and son Darren (Shannon) Addison; siblings Fred (Linda) Addison, Gladys Henson, Irene Prouten, Margaret Friesen (friend Gaza), Carol (Ralph) Gara; brother-in-law Fred Miller; sister-in-law Yvonne McAuley; six grandchildren: Michael Huberdeau (Trisha), Jordan Huberdeau, Breanne Huberdeau (Gareth), Payton Parker, Calen Addison, and Ryan Addison; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alex was predeceased by his father Albert Addison and mother Elizabeth Addison; his sister Myrtle Miller; his mother- and father-in-law Clarence and Mary McAuley; his brothers-in-law Doug McAuley and Don Henson; and his grandson Brody Parker.

Donations in memory of Alex can be given to the Southeast Integrated Care Centre.
