Stephen James "Jim" Little was born to Frank and Grace (nee Tanner) Little on the family farm located at SE-9-36-9-W2. Jim passed away unexpectedly due to complications from surgery at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon on Dec. 21, 2014, with his loving family by his side.

Jim was the youngest of six brothers: Lloyd, Wilbert, John, George and Harold. Jim received his education at Lintlaw School to Grade 10, then went to Shilo, Man. as a soldier apprentice. Afterwards he returned to Lintlaw and took his Grade 11 and 12 at Sturgis, Sask.

After graduation Jim and Vern Little went to Saskatoon to find employment. Jim applied for a station agent position with the Canadian National Railway, which eventually took him to many different communities in those six years. During his work for the railway Jim also began a course in municipal administration.

Jim met Georgie Kells at Elfros, Sask. in 1966 while he was employed at the RM of Elfros. Jim moved to Young, Sask. in 1967, to work as RM administrator for the RM of Morris. Jim and Georgie were married on July 27, 1968. Jim then went on to the RM of Hazel Dell and they were able to move back to Lintlaw and the family homestead.

Jim retired from his job at the RM of Sasman after 35 years of municipal work, but continued to work as a supervisor training new RM secretaries. Jim and Georgie also ran an insurance business, Little Agencies, for a number of years in the Lintlaw-Kuroki area.

Jim was involved in many organizations, including the Lintlaw Legion, Morse Telegraph Club, Elfros Masonic Lodge, Kelvindell Lodge board member, charter member of the Young Lions Club, the RM Administrators Association and St. Stephens Anglican Church.

Jim and Georgie enjoyed many full and busy retirement years, during which they spent 15 winters in Yuma, Arizona. They enjoyed many cruises, including his favorite being the Panama Canal.

His hobbies included collecting stamps and Saskatchewan license plates and restoring his family’s tractor-an Allis Chalmers from the 1940s that needed much love. His love of history and genealogy assisted in his quest to write a book of his own family history.

Jim was a family man. He spent many happy hours with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved walking in nature, especially being up in the bush around Camille and Bob’s cabin.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Frank and Grace Little; his five older brothers: Lloyd, Wilbert, John, George and Harold, and their wives; his mother- and father-in-law George and Mabel Kells and his brother-in-law Duncan George.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Georgie of 46 and a half years; his daughter Camille (Bob Herbison); his sons Jason (Kimberly) and Craig (Christine); grandchildren Braden (Taffeta) Fitterer, Brett Fitterer (Asha), Bryce (Samantha) Fitterer, Conner Little, and Mackenzie Little; great-granddaughter Elliott Fitterer; brother-in-law Bruce (Sharon) Kells; sisters-in-law Margaret Prouse and Sharon George and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim will be missed by all who knew him.
