Dennis Clifford Clarke was born in Russell, Manitoba on April 1, 1946 to parents Clifford and Isabella (Kelly) Clarke. His early years were spent on the family farm which was located in the Bavelaw District east of Spy Hill.

In 1957 the family moved to Spy Hill. Here Dennis learned to play hockey, curl and develop a keen interest in the Spy Hill chuck wagon and chariot races that led to his interest in rodeo events in later years.

After completing school, Dennis was employed to help install the water and sewer systems for Spy Hill and Tantallon, and later worked for several farmers in the Rocanville area.

This soon led to his marriage to Willa (Sheppard) in 1965.

Soon after the arrival of Denise and William, the family moved to Willa’s family farm, north of Rocanville, where Dennis took up farming.

After a number of years on the farm Dennis and Willa moved to the town of Rocanville in 1997.

During his retirement Dennis kept himself busy with his favorite hobby of woodworking, and although he could no longer play hockey, was often seen at the rink during most senior games.

He also continued with the sport of curling for as many years as he was able.

Dennis also loved to travel, always finding a way to take a summer vacation in B.C. and eventually spending a week or two in the Caribbean (Dominican Republic) in the winter months.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife Willa, his daughter Denise (Nick) Hudym, and granddaughter Aura-Lee Hudym of Rocanville, grandson Brandon (Allisa) Hudym, great grandsons Markus Hudym and Jax Hudym of Moosomin, his sister Mildred Muir of Rocanville, nephew Tim (Jackie) Muir of Hussar, Alta., nephew Chris (Lynn) Muir of Hanna, Alta. and niece Penny (Craig) Olafson of Langenberg and various other family members.

He is predeceased by his parents Clifford and Isabella (Kelly) Clarke, Stepfather Maurice Kelly, his son William and his brother-in-law Ron Muir. Dennis will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
