Ted was born on November 2nd, 1932 in Arcola, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Moosomin shortly after he was born. He had five sibling; Charles (Chuck), Grant, Gwen, Gerald (Jib) and Janet (Dottie).

Dad attended Ivanhoe School and finished his education in Moosomin. He began his mechanical career with Bradley’s in 1949. He worked as a mechanic then built and opened his own garage - Pine Corner Service- in 1968.

Ted met Bernice Clark in 1949 and married on November 15th, 1951. They had six children and in 1962 they moved into the “big white house on the hill”. Dad loved that house. It was his pride and joy.

The Beckett’s had a cottage at Moosomin Lake and Ted was on the lake board committee for a few years.

Ted and Bernice also liked camping and fishing up north with their friends. They also enjoyed trips out to the west coast with friends to visit family.

Ted organized and worked at the old time threshing bees from 1990-2006. He was also involved with the museum in Moosomin. He was so happy restoring old machinery and tractors.

Ted was predeceased by his mother Margaret; father Charles; father in law Clarence Clark; sister Janet MacKay (Dottie); grandson Dustin Beckett. He is survived by his wife Bernice of 64 years; His children Al (Anna) Beckett, Randy Beckett, Rick (Sylvia) Beckett, Brian (Susan) Beckett, Susan Beckett and Tom (Maxine) Beckett; grandchildren: Deanne Mudkins, Rob Beckett, Shannon Beckett, Jennifer Beckett, Megan Beckett, Chelsie Johnson and Brody Beckett; great-grandchildren Adele Boast, Nolan Boast, Ella Hildebrandt, Sadie Hildebrandt, Clara Dodsworth, Kaenan Beckett, Keanna Beckett, Kashton Beckett and Scarlett Johnson; mother in law Evelyn Ayers and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ted will be greatly missed by all.

The funeral was held at Carscadden Funeral Chapel on May 13, 2016. The interment was in the South Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Trish McCarthy officiating.
