In loving memory of Dr. Barrie Davidson, beloved husband of Jan and of the late Alice Davidson, who passed away at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre, Moosomin, Saskatchewan on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 at the age of 81 years.

Barrie was predeceased by his wife Alice Davidson, his sister Anne Edkins, and his parents Andrew and Hilda Davidson.

He leaves to mourn his second wife of four years Jan (Lazicki), his children Chris of Moosomin, SK., Wendy (Joe) of Neudorf, SK., and Tim (Wendy) of Sooke, BC; his grandchildren Carly, Megan, Brett, Nicole and Holly, his daughter-in-law Bev Davidson, his brother-in-law Don Edkins, sister-in-law Mildred Brown, and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Barrie was born to Dr. Andrew and Hilda Davidson on October 29, 1934 in Cartwright, Manitoba where he completed his high school education. Barrie married Alice (Neelin) on September 13th 1958. Barrie graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Degree in Medicine in 1960, carrying on a family tradition as both his father and grandfather were medical doctors.

Barrie and Alice moved to Moosomin, Saskatchewan in 1961 where Barrie practiced medicine as a general practitioner until he retired in 1992. Upon retirement Barrie kept extremely busy both at home and in the community. Barrie was heavily involved in the community and belonged to many organizations including the Masons, Moosomin Wa Wa Shriners, Regional Health Board, Mooseberry Acting Company, AA, and the Moosomin Heritage Committee. Barrie also enjoyed many other activities and hobbies including gardening, model railroads, music, computers, photography, and travelling throughout Canada and USA with family and friends.

Barrie had a great passion for politics and played a significant role in the successful campaigns of many conservative MLAs and MPs in the Moosomin and surrounding area.

St. Alban’s Anglican Church was a big part of Barrie’s life where he spent many years on the vestry, tended the grounds and built the courtyard garden, and was the organist for a number of years.

Barrie will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 12th, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moosomin Convention Centre, Moosomin, SK. Interment was in the Moosomin South Cemetery, Moosomin, SK.
