Anna was born on September 20, 1918 in the Holar district near Tantallon to Julius and Sessyla Johnson. She passed away at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin, Sask. on September 26, 2016.

As a young girl she was involved with school, cutter rides, farm chores, playing and caring for her siblings. She understood the meaning of hard times having gone through the dirty 30’s and often told stories of going to bed after a supper of bread soaked in fresh cow’s milk.

Anna married John William Swanson on November 3, 1938 at the United Church Manse in Tantallon. To this union four children were born—Marjorie Yvonne, Patricia Ann, Ronald John, and Brenda Darlene. For the next 45 years Anna lived the life of a farm wife—milking cows, separating cream, making and delivering hundreds of suppers in the field, growing bountiful gardens, tending picturesque flower beds, sewing, crocheting, knitting, being a leader in CGIT and 4-H as well as involvement with the church the choir and the community.

In their later years they curled in the winter and spent weekends at Round Lake, going to the Saturday night dances at the Club in the summer. Anna also took organ lessons, ceramic lessons and painting lessons. Her hands and her mind were seldom idle. And oh the family celebrations and incredible meals she created for the generations that followed.

In 1983, Johnny and Anna retired and moved to Rocanville where Anna continued being involved with her many hobbies, making and giving away quilts, socializing, the Cheerio club, the Seniors club and the church.

Her door was always open, the coffee pot was always on, the deep freeze was always full of goodies and no one ever left her house without not only partaking in a meal or coffee but also usually with a goodie bag to take home.

Anna continued her weekend trips to the lake on her own well into her eighties and loved going out fishing and the incredible sunsets as attested to by her photo albums full of pictures.

Anna was predeceased by her parents; her husband of nearly 50 years; her brothers Walter, Shorty, and Sammy; her sister Swana Brown; brothers-in-law John Brown and Robert Neubauer; and grandsons Brent Tramer and Ricky Tremblay.

Anna leaves to celebrate her life and continue a beautiful legacy her children Marj Tramer; Patricia (Charles) Burks; Ronald (Eva Duce) Swanson; and Darlene (Walter) Maier. Grandchildren Deanna Tramer Vallee; Dean (Darlene) Burks; Curtis (Barb) Burks; Judith Swanson Barb (Ryan) Rudniski Heather Swanson-Tremblay (Mitch Robitaille); Ryan (Sun-young) Maier Brad (Chentelle Jones) Maier; Krista (Richard) Banbury.
