Hellen was born in Tantallon, Saskatchewan to Peter John McLean and Violet Grace (Duce). In 1941 Violet was taken from her family due to pneumonia. Peter with the help of Mae Cunday raised his family on his farm north of Rocanville.

Hellen met Allan Stewart at a local dance and later married. Together they began farming three miles west of Welwyn. They raised three children, Roy, Edward and Diane. On the farm Hellen was able to enjoy her passion for horses, including miniature horses and many special family dogs.

In 2003 Allan passed away and Hellen later moved off the farm and into Rocanville.

She enjoyed spending time volunteering at the thrift store. Hellen enjoyed a friendship with Garfield Fisher and they married in August of 2014. Unfortunately they were not able to spend much time together as Hellen suffered a stroke a few months later. Hellen then lived in the long term care facility in Moosomin. Garfield spent much of his time by her side, until his passing in April 2015.

Hellen passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

Hellen leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life, her children: Roy (Linette), Edward (Jaime) and Diane (Brian) Aamodt: grandchildren Brayden, Reid, Taelor, Kyra; Kiara, Carter and Kylie: sisters-in-law Irene McLean, Fay McLean, Carley Koomans and Rhoda Stewart as well as her nieces and nephews.

Hellen was predeceased by her husband C. Allan Stewart and second husband Garfield Fisher: parents Peter and Violet McLean, Mae Cunday; brothers Edward and Mervin; father-in-law Archie Stewart; mother-in-law Barbara Stewart and brother-in-law Hans Koomans.
