Bruce Dunsmore passed away peacefully on March 11, 2018 at the age of 77. Bruce’s life began on December 6, 1940—the first child of Cecil and Jean Dunsmore. Bruce attended Perth District School, along with his sister Shirley, just down the lane from the family farm.

In May 1965, Bruce married Eileen Browning of Wapella. They settled on what is now known as the Dunsmore Family Farm, on the same quarter and less than half a mile from where he grew up. Together, he and Eileen grew the farm, while raising two children—Calvin, born in 1965 and Lana, born in 1967.

Aside from his family, no one would ever doubt that farming was Bruce’s greatest passion and that green was his favorite color. He and Eileen were incredibly fortunate to work together as partners before bringing in Calvin, son-in-law Dean Becker and eventually grandsons Brady and Colby into the family farm. He was never more thrilled than to have three generations working long hours, side by side, bringing in the crop.

He also had his hand in other businesses that complemented the farming operation in one way or another. These included a trucking company, several years spent as the Agent for Esso Petroleum and Fertilizer products in Rocanville, Moosomin, and McAuley, and eventually his own parts store.

In 2012, Bruce and Eileen decided it was time to make their move into town. Although he was still at the farm every day, he now learned to relax a bit. He found more time to enjoy visits and friendships with the coffee crowd and work on his antique tractors.

Bruce is predeceased by his parents, sister Shirley Watson, son-in-law Dean Becker and grandson Colby Becker.

He leaves to cherish his memories wife Eileen, son Calvin, daughter Lana Becker, grandchildren Jill Becker and Brady (Candy) Becker, and brother-in-law Walter Watson.
