Shirley Frazer passed away peacefully on July 18, 2018 in Calgary, Alberta.

Shirley was born March 18, 1932 in Welwyn, Saskatchewan to Robert and Mary Welcher (nee Byers). She was the third of four children.

Shirley married Alex Frazer in her home town in 1952 and shortly thereafter settled in the community of West Hillhurst in Calgary, Alberta. Shirley was an active community member while raising her two sons and an avid sports fan. She faithfully attended Hillhurst United Church and was devotedly involved with the West Hillhurst Go-Getters Seniors Club. In addition to her community, she took great pride and satisfaction from all her granddaughters’ adventures and successes.

She is survived by her brother, Bill Welcher; sons Randy Frazer and John Frazer (Kathryn Valentine) and granddaughters Amanda (Franco) Mosca, Elizabeth Frazer (Vonny Fast) and Emily Frazer.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Alexander (Alex) Frazer; parents, Mary and Robert Welcher; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Murray Riddell; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Marilyn Welcher; and sister-in-law Ruth Welcher.

As per Shirley’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service.
