Doug was born July 27, 1958 in Wawota, Sask. He was raised on the family farm near Doonside, the first child of Gertrude and Donald Wight.

Doug attended school in Wawota, he then farmed for several years during which time he married Sherry McIndoe and they were blessed with two children Brittany and Rianne. Doug learned many trades throughout his life some including carpentry and mechanical work leading him into a career as a combine technician. Doug devoted 22 years to his dream job satisfying many customers and building meaningful relationships as an employee of Pattison Agriculture.

Doug passed away October 17, 2018 at the Pasqua hospital in Regina, Sask. with his family by his side. He will forever be remembered for his devotion to his family, friends and career.

He always had a passion for spending time in his yard, family camping, and wood working. Doug was a proud grandfather to his two granddaughters Emma and Clarke who brought many hours of enjoyment to his life.

Doug is predeceased by his father Donald Wight, his sister-in-law Jeannie Wight. Grandparents Clarence and Jean Fisk and Elgin and Emily Jane Wight.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Wight, his daughters Brittany Wight (Carter), Rianne (Zachary) Watson; granddaughters Emma Martens and Clarke Watson; mother Gertrude (Ivan) Wight Condie; brother David Wight; Sherry’s parents Pete and Joyce McIndoe; Sherry’s siblings Pam (Nick) Prebushewski; Cindy (Dan) Westfield; Dennis (Tara-Lee) McIndoe. Plus numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
