Stanley Gordon Donaldson was born on March 11, 1922 in Rocanville, Sask. He died on May 27, 2013 at the age of 91.

Gordon was predeceased by brothers Murray and Donnie, sister Ruth, and a son, Lyle, who died at birth. He is survived by his sisters Beryl and Birdie, his wife Anna, children David (Annie), Donna McKay, Greg, and Irma Atkinson, his grandchildren Hilding Donaldson, Jim Stenberg, Tammy Ladouceur, Douglas Atkinson, and Kasity Atkinson, his great-grandchildren Christiana, Charena, Charlen, Cholon, Cheldyn, Calvyn, Carla, Brittany, Heyden, and Breylen.

Gordon grew up in the Qu'Appelle Valley in Saskatchewan. Gordon married Anna in 1946. In 1952, with two children in tow, they moved onto a homestead on the Lassister Project near Eaglesham, Alberta. Farming didn't turn out to be Gordon's forte so he trained to be a mechanic and eventually opened his own garage. Donaldson's Garage was in operation from 1966 until 1991 when Gordon "retired." After retirement Gordon continued to do repairs for his long standing customers.

Gordon was in his own home until three months before his passing. He and Anna moved into the Harvest Lodge, an assisted care facility in Fairview, in March of 2013. Gordon was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was only ill for one day before his passing. He led a good life with a good wife, and is now in a better place.

Funeral services were held in the Eaglesham Community Church in Eaglesham on June 6, 2013. Gordon's remains were buried in the Pleasant Heights Cemetery in Eaglesham.
