Margaret was born in the Hillberg Municipality of Manitoba on May 9, 1936 to her parents, James and Elizabeth Ready. She attended school at Bield, Manitoba.

In 1953 she married Lyle Schneider who passed away in 1968 leaving her with a one year old son, Wilfed.
The following year Margaret married JD (Ted) Davis on December 27, 1969. They have one son, James, born in 1970. Together they farmed in the Cromarty District of Roblin until 1986. In the years that followed Margaret and JD worked for several farmers in the McAuIey area. Some of these were: Dave and Susie Balbar, Lorne and Leona McAuley, George Webb, and Francis Lewis. Eventually they settled on the Pearl Johnson farm, renting the land for nine years. Here, Margaret pursued her love and knowledge of plants. Her greenhouse supplied plants for many a garden and flower bed. In the Village of Manson, Margaret and JD, along with friends Lloya and Ruthanne Jacobs, developed the well known, Memorial Gardens.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, James and Elizabeth; her first husband, Lyle; her sisters and brother and their spouses from both families, as well as her cousin Jean Tapp. Margaret leaves to mourn her husband, JD; sons, Wilfred (Darlene) and James (Crystal); grandchildren, Lyle (Breanna), Shania (Mitch), Colten (Tiffany), Michaela, Michenzie, and Mylee; great-grandchildren, McKenna Margaret, Brantley, and Bentley; sister-in-law, Mavis Ready; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Albert and Gail Davis, along with many nieces and nephews.
