Walter (Bud) Pleckham was born on March 2, 1925 in Bromhead, Sask. and moved to the Wawota District in 1937.

Bud joined the army in 1943 and served in England and Italy with the P.P.C.L.I. during WWII. He was injured and returned home in 1945, to heal and pursue his love of farming.

He married Thelma Husband June 3, 1946. They made their home and raised their family in the Glen Adelaide district, S.W. of Wawota. They retired from farming and moved to Wawota in 1971. Bud and Thelma then pursued numerous other ventures, including travelling, building a local golf course and raising Llamas. Thelma passed away in 1997.

Bud married Mary MacPherson in April of 2001 and they continued life’s adventures together.

Bud was predeceased by his wife of 50 years Thelma Pleckham (Husband), his oldest sister Mildred Thiry and youngest brother Wilbur Pleckham and parents Merlin and Malanda Pleckham.

He is survived by his wife Mary Pleckham (MacPherson), siblings Florence Gilder, Ruth Bradley, Floyd Pleckham, Myrtle (Clarence) McDonnell; daughters Sharon Wadsworth (Herman Valckx), Joan (Dennis) Fisk, and Kay Steele. Step-children Greg (Barb) MacPherson, Delwyn (Sharon) MacPherson, Darlene MacPherson; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
