Teresa’s family and friends lost a ray of sunshine, May 22, as she passed away in Providence Place, Moose Jaw after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer and dementia.

Teresa was a daughter, sister, wife, aunt and friend extraordinaire.

She was predeceased by parents, Jarvis and Vera Bullied, her husband, Marshall McLeod in 2011, many aunts, uncles, numerous friends and animal buddies.

Teresa’s humour, determination and sparkle will be missed by countless close friends, six brothers, two sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law, including Ken McLeod and Mary Hoffman, an aunt and many special nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Teresa exuded energy, humour and kindness her entire lifetime. As a young person Teresa cultivated a love of animals. Horses ignited her passion and by fourteen, she was mucking stalls and grooming horses at the Moose Jaw Barns to earn opportunity to ride, and at fifteen purchased her first horse. She was a skilled horse person and shared her knowledge readily. She owned and loved five horses over her lifetime.

Teresa’s first career was a Saskatchewan Telephones Operator in Moose Jaw. In the early 70’s she transferred to Moosomin, Sask. There she met Marshall McLeod, shared him enough with her family to get raving approval and their life together as Moosomin farmers began! She quickly found like-minded individuals whose interests met hers: gardening, creating art, karate, cross-country skiing, laughing, horses and music, music, music. Teresa attended the Emma Lake Fiddle Camp for eight years and the Kenosee Lake Kitchen Party for three. She was an accomplished and generous musician, attending ‘jams’ throughout her region.

Through her work and play, Teresa built lasting friendships, including her special “Dirt Sisters”— rare, raucous, loving and supportive kindred spirits of a lifetime.

She loved the outdoors and adventure. She loved her garden. She was strong in body and soul. She was creative and determined. She created a beautiful world for herself and Marsh and welcomed others to enjoy it.

Her battle with cancer took her to her Moose Jaw family, leaving behind dozens of friends in Moosomin and area.

She will be sorely missed and forever loved. Thanks go to her caregivers including Dr. Maryam AlHayki and Cindy, Dr. Yolanda Marx, staff at Extendicare and Providence Place, Guardian Grove and new friends, Diane, Lucille and Celine. Heartfelt thanks from Teresa’s family are extended to Lynn George, Russ and Yvonne Slugoski, Rob Austin and Ken McLeod for care of Teresa’s home and garden in her absence.

A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held at the Moosomin Armoury on July 18 at 1 pm.
