Stanley Howard Knuttila died Sunday, November 10, 2019 at age 83 in the Southeast Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin.

Predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Impi Knuttila, brothers Leslie, Larry, Keith, brother-in-law Albert Wotton and sisters Jean Larway and Shirley Wotton, father and mother-in-law, Ingie and Alice Olafson, sisters-in-law Beverly Olafson, Shirley Olafson and Caroline Godwin and nephews Neil and Kevin Godwin and Kerry Knuttila.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 59 years, Colleen (Olafson); his son Robert (Holly), his daughters Corleen and Arleen, his son Garth (Allison), and grandchildren; Anthony, Zachary, Kendall, Alexander, his brothers Cecil (Lynn), Gordon (Marilyn), his sisters Phyllis (Don) Strong, and Ruby (Arnold) Louma, sisters-in-law June Knuttila, and Barb Knuttila, brother-in-law Cal Larway, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stan was born and raised on the family farm in the Woodleigh district north of Wapella. Stan and Colleen married on July 23, 1960. They purchased the family farm in 1965 where they raised cattle and grain farmed, while also working at PCS Rocanville mine. Stan retired from mining in 2000 and in 2002 Stan and Colleen retired from farming and moved to Rocanville.

Stan loved people and spent countless hours talking to anyone and everyone. He enjoyed watching hockey, curling, teasing his many nieces and nephews and being with his family. He touched the lives of many people with his smile and maintained his trademark laugh and sense of humour all the way to the end.

We would like to thank the staff of the Southeast Integrated Care Center—Long Term Care for the wonderful job they do. They took great care of Stan.

The family would also like to thank our family and friends for the visits with Stan while in care. They made his stay enjoyable. Also thanks for the condolences, prayers, flowers and food. These have been appreciated during this difficult period.
