It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Charlotte Hitchcock advises of her death, after living a full and long life.

Helen is survived by her four daughters Allisen Rothery and her daughters Kimberly (Paul Christensen) and Nicole (Steven Hermanson) and children Royce and Merrick; Sheila Cameron-Hopkins (Patrick Hopkins) and sons Wesley Cameron, Steven Cameron and children Wyatt and Emma, and Donald Cameron (Hope Fulton); Catherine Fox (Blair Fox) and daughters Alexandra (William White-Brown) and Samantha (Travis Quennell); and Beatrice Hitchcock (Vip Patel).

Helen is predeceased by her son, John Hitchcock.

Helen grew up in south-eastern Saskatchewan on Arden Farm, named by her father when he emigrated from Birmingham, England in 1903. Helen inherited her father’s love and skill for gardening, and her mother’s sense of duty and commitment in raising her family.

Helen ensured that her five children were university educated, and took great pride in their accomplishments.

All who visited Helen enjoyed her kindness, warmth and hospitality, especially her baking for which she was renowned.

Helen loved animals. She always had at least one cat in her home, and sometimes two. All of her cats were strays who found their way to her doorstep. Helen was a great supporter of the Saskatoon SPCA.

The Memorial Service will take place at Earlswood Cemetery, Saskatchewan, at a later date, where Helen’s ashes will be interred beside her son, siblings and parents.

Condolences may be left for the family at www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home 306-244-5577.
