It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Gordon Blyth, resident of Wapella Saskatchewan. Ken passed away on August 31st, 2020 at the Moosomin Integrated Health Centre at the age of 70 years old after a long battle with renal failure surrounded by his loved ones.

Kenneth or Ken was born in Regina Saskatchewan and was raised on the Blyth family farm 1/2 mile north of Wapella Saskatchewan by his parents Gordon and Linnie Blyth.

He is predeceased by his parents Gordon and Linnie, His in-laws Martin and Nellie and his brother Jim.

He is survived by his love of his life Darlene Blyth, his children Shelly (Hugh Garrett), Sherry (Kirk Sinclair), Sharron (Kirk Duncan), and Robert Blyth (Linda Dawson). His sister Diana Ducharme (Jay Milan), Kathy and Charlee, and Sister Kim. His Grandchildren Bailey (Kent), Brandy (Ryan), Jessica, Janelle (Travis), Josh, Trai, Preston, Breanna, Sydney, and Zachary. And his seven great-grandchildren Nicholas, Liam, River, Sunny, Lillian, Ren and Oakin. And all of the many nieces and nephews who spent time on the farm growing up.

Ken was a farmer, handyman, carpenter and a loving husband to his wife Darlene. Ken and Darlene were married at the United Church in Wapella Saskatchewan on July 30, 1968. Ken and Darlene had a wonderful life together on the Blyth family farm, it was the place where they raised their four children and a place they worked hard to make it what it is today.

Ken loved attending auction sales, he would drive near and far to attend all sorts of sales. And if it wasn’t a sale he was attending he was probably diving somewhere to pick up one of his finds from the Bargain Hunter. In the past months Ken enjoyed sitting down by the river at the Qu’Appelle valley listing to the water flow on his favorite spot called the “Monkey Rock”.

Ken will be deeply missed by his four children, 10 Grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A service to remember Ken’s life was on September 5, 2020 at the Blyth Family farm, with Sheilagh Garrett officiating.

If friends or family desire, donations may be made to the Hemodialysis Unit of Regina General Hospital, 1440-14th Ave, Regina, S4P 0W5, in memory of Kenneth Gordon Blyth.
