Darren Kenneth Green was born on November 10, 1962 in Mankota, Sask. the firstborn of Don and Myrna. The zeal with which he approached life was apparent from the youngest age, even his mother called him a daredevil! He was so proud to be born and raised in the beautiful Prairies of Saskatchewan that he never left.

In 1983 he met the love of his life, Connie, and a short six months later, they were wed. Their life was filled to the brim with happiness as they welcomed six children over the course of the next eleven years. Darren loved being a dad. He never was too busy to spend time with his kids and he loved teaching them everything he knew. There are so many invaluable memories that he has left his family: hikes in the valley, square dancing, road trips, reading books together and Easter basket hunts. One of his favorite times was watching shows together; he would make an enormous bowl of popcorn and after one episode, he would always beg for “just one more.” If something was broken, he could fix it. His love for music was apparent as well. Whenever he was working or driving, there was always music playing and you could hear him humming or singing along. At one point he finally decided he wanted to start writing songs and went on to record them—another invaluable memory created.

He encountered the world with his infectious chuckle and great smile, but also knew the time and place to take things seriously. He gave his all in everything he did: his marriage, his family, his work, but especially with God. His dedication to the Faith and the fervor with which he served Our Lord was unbounded. He taught his family the value of this gift. “Put God first and He will always take care of you,” was just one of the frequent lines of advice that was always on his lips. What more final way to lead by example than by answering the call to come back to His Savior without any notice? This is the final lesson he left his family.
Darren leaves behind his dear mother, Myrna Green-Wicklund (Glen); his darling wife, Connie; siblings, Donna Richter (James), Cathy Johnston (Lee), Chris Green (Shawna), and David Delorme; his children, Jennifer Morbeto (Adam), Melissa Ruhland (Patrick), Joseph Green (Stephanie), Michael Green (Anne-Marie), Daniel Green (Isabelle), and Monica Lessard (Nicolas); fourteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26
