Trina was born and raised in Grayson, Sask on November 30, 1944 and attended school in Grayson.

She married Lloyd Nagy, of Dubuc, on October 8, 1966. They moved to Esterhazy where Lloyd worked at the Potash Mine while Mom raised kids Marty (born July 1967) and Raquel (born February 1970). In the summer of 1974, they moved to the farm in Dubuc, where Lloyd continued to work at the mine and started farming. They completed their family and were blessed with two more children, Shauna (born February 1976) and Tyler (born June 1979).

Mom spent seven years working at the Esterhazy Special Care Home, until her first diagnosis of breast cancer, in 1989. She kicked cancers butt then and again in 2012 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer a second time. Mom never let these diagnoses get her down. She was always very positive and turned to her faith, family and friends to get her through the difficult times.

Family and friends were everything to Mom. Many years were spent at Moose Bay/Cedar Cove, Crooked Lake and Bird’s Point, Round Lake camping and boating all summer long. Plans were in the works for Mom and Dad to join Shauna and family at Nickle Lake this summer. It was very rare they missed any activity, sporting event or Christmas concert. They were always there for their kids and their grandkids.

Mom never liked being cold and if she had her way, she’d take the fireplace with her everywhere. She even made sure they bought a camper with a fireplace because she needed it in the summer too! She would always bundle up extra warm to run a meal out to the field for her boys, sit around a campfire, watch a hockey game in many rinks, attend a dance or gymnastics recital, sit in the stands at a dusty racetrack or a rodeo.

Family and friends were everything to Mom. She loved nothing more than chatting and visiting with those near and far. She had no problem picking up the phone and reconnecting with friends and family, like no time had passed at all. Mom had so many friends who she enjoyed crafting, quilting and brunching with. She loved playing UNO or checkers, and no mercy was given, even against the grandkids. You were always welcome into their home, where a homemade meal was prepared and shared. If Mom ever came to your house, she never came empty handed, but always with a homemade card she crafted with care and attention or treat in hand.

Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling around. Highlights of their travels included bus trips to British Columbia, Branson, a 21-day trip to the USA West Coast, Las Vegas and Arizona and a hot vacation with Raquel’s family to Mexico in 2007.

Mom slowed down over the last few years when she required a few knee surgeries and suffered a broken leg. No matter Mom’s ailment she was always more worried about others and put others before herself. When Dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, she was there taking care of him. Even when her memory started to fail her, she did everything to help others and stayed busy.

In late October 2020, Mom was diagnosed with bone cancer, but she never let it get her down. She was optimistic and was looking forward to the future, making plans with Dad, her kids, and grandkids. Mom’s faith got her through many difficult times and now we carry on knowing we have our very own guardian angel watching over us.

A funeral will be held at a later date, with interment following at Dubuc Community Cemetery. A Public Visitation was held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 4:00-5:00 pm at Peter Carscadden Funeral Chapel, Esterhazy. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a Canadian Cancer Society of one’s choice. Remembrances and condolences may be shared at www.pcarscaddenfs.ca. I love you a bushel and a peck
A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.
