Mildred Cordell Knutson passed away peacefully, August 16, 2013, at the Davidson Health Centre at the age of 92 years.

Mildred was born September 14, 1920 to Austin and Marietta Harrison at Fairlight, Sask. She attended school in Fairlight and worked part-time at Fallis’s Store.

In 1942, she married Elmer Knutson from Maryfield, Sask. They lived with Elmer’s parents, Charlie and Myrtle Knutson for three years before moving to the Hillcrest district for another three years. In 1949, they bought the J.J. Harris farm where they lived for almost 50 years.

In 1998, Mildred and Elmer moved uptown to the Heritage Haven where Elmer passed away in 2002. Mildred continued to live at the Haven until January, 2007 when she moved next door to the Sunrise Villa. In April of 2010, due to failing health, Mildred moved to the Davidson Health Centre in Davidson, Sask. to be closer to family.

Mildred enjoyed curling, crocheting, singing, church activities, gardening and growing flowers.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Bryan) Fowler, grandchildren, Curtis and Carman (Clayton) and great-grandsons, Braeden, Kaylan and Mason as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mildred was predeceased by her parents, Austin and Marietta Harrison and two brothers, Stanley and Wilmont.

A funeral service was held from St. Andrew’s United Church in Maryfield on August 22, 2013 with Rev. Harvey Hurren officiating. Organist Mary Lou Sweeting and choir led the singing of hymns. Mildred’s nieces Cecilia Williams and Karen Burnouf attended the memorial register. Ushers were Len Gavin and Jim Kay. Interment was in the Maryfield Cemetery. Urn bearer was Curtis Fowler. The family considered all of Mildred’s friends and family in attendance as honorary pallbearers.

Hansons Funeral Home of Davidson, Sask. were in charge of arrangements.
