Leslie Emil Switzer was born in Moosomin hospital on August 31, 1950 to Joan (Webber) and Fred Switzer, and little brother to Darlene. At the age of two, Joan, Darlene and Leslie moved to the family farm where Leslie developed a love for raising livestock that lasted over 69 years.

In his younger years, Leslie loved to ride horses and compete in gymkhana where he won lots of red ribbons on his horse Fury. As a teenager, he worked part-time at the Pool Auction Mart then after graduation went full-time for the next 15 years. Les’ next, and longest, career was driving the Dial-a-Van for MOTOH for 35 years. He loved chatting with his regulars and helping all his customers get around town.

The real love of his life was his family. In 1974, Les met Iris Faye Patterson. They were married July 25, 1975 and blessed with two children, Charles Leslie Kevin and Rhonda Faye. Les’ favorite pastimes were: spending time with family, attending to his cattle, watching his children and grandchildren play ball and hockey and going to rodeos and fairs.

Les is survived by his wife of 46 years Iris, his son Kevin (Hope), daughter Rhonda, stepdaughter Dyetta, grandchildren Alisha and Austin Switzer, Rebecca and Kieran Stewart, Kristofer, Jeffery and Thomas Froese, sister Darlene Fehr, nieces and nephews Shelley (Eric) Kretchman, Jamey (Jonelle) Fehr, Tammy (Kelly) Hill, cousins Clifford Webber, Harold (Melody), Ken (Lucille) and Dennis Sheane and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Les was predeceased by his dad Fred Switzer, mom Joan, brother-in-law Jim Fehr, Aunts and Uncles Edna and Joe Buck, Dorothy and Secord Sheane, and Ida Webber.

A service to celebrate and remember Les will be held at a later date.
