On May 9, 2022, at approximately 10:35 pm, Brandon RCMP initiated a traffic stop on Highway 5 in the RM of North Cypress-Langford.

Police checks were conducted and the licence plates on the vehicle were reported stolen. The driver and passenger were subsequently arrested. The vehicle involved was a suspect in approximately eight separate thefts in 2022.

The driver gave a false name to police and was later identified and found to have several outstanding warrants. Further investigation led officers to determine that he was also responsible for several thefts that had occurred earlier this year in the province.

The passenger a 30-year-old female from Cypress River, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Winnipeg. She was released with an upcoming court date.

Tyler Case, 37, of Cypress River, has been charged with:

* Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
* Obstruction
* Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Prohibited
* Theft x3

He was remanded into custody.

RCMP continue to investigate, further charges are anticipated.
