It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Pam Hickman (nee Cole), mother, wife, daughter, sister, teacher and friend, on Monday, October 10, after a battle with cancer that only a warrior could have withstood.

Pam joined Jesus where she is now in eternal peace.

All of Pam’s family was at her side throughout the weekend sharing love and prayers.

Pamela Faye Hickman was born on July 30, 1980 at Hamiota, Manitoba, the third child of Pat and Delbert Cole.

Pam spent her childhood growing up on the Cole family farm in the RM of Miniota.

At age five she began kindergarten at Miniota School where she attended through to grade 8.

She then went on to high school in Birtle, graduating in 1998.

Throughout her school days Pam was involved in many extracurricular activities. She was a member of the 4-H club, attended Sunday School, took organ lessons, played baseball, volleyball, basketball, curling and golf.
After her high school graduation, Pam moved to Brandon to attend college at ACC where she took a two year Business Administration diploma.

She worked in this field locally for a short time before venturing out to Red Deer where she worked as an office administrator for a couple of years.
Following in her sisters’ footsteps, she made the decision to become a teacher.

She returned to ACC to take her Early Childhood Education and then carried on to take her Education degree at Brandon University. She graduated from BU in May of 2008.

It was during her time at BU that Pam met Brad and they began dating. Pam and Brad got their first apartment in Moosomin and it was here where Brad proposed in 2007.

In 2008 they bought their house in Rocanville.

On June 21, 2008, a very hot day, Pam and Brad were married outside overlooking the Miniota valley with their siblings and Grandpa Jack standing by their sides.

In September of 2008 Pam returned to Miniota Elementary School, this time for her first teaching position as a grade 3/4 teacher.

It wasn’t long after this that Pam and Brad found out they were expecting.
On April 27, 2009 Pam and Brad welcomed their first baby boy, Hogan, also known as H1.

In 2010 Pam began teaching at Rocanville School where she continued to work until this past spring.

Hayes, aka H2, arrived on August 30, 2012, but their family was not complete until Hardy, or H3, arrived on June 12, 2015.

Their family did grow a little bit more though by four feet in May 2021, with the addition of their beloved Walter.

In November of 2021 Pam completed her Integrative Health Practitioner Level 1 course. This enabled her to speak to a couple of different groups and switch up the audience of her teaching.

Pam was a member of the Rocanville Day Care board and didn’t shy away from volunteering in the community. She was always thinking about others.
Pam was many things to many people but her role as mother was likely her most important.

Her love for her three boys was unmeasurable. She was their biggest fan and was always supporting them in whatever endeavour or activity they were doing.
Pam is survived by her husband, Brad, sons, Hogan, Hayes and Hardy; parents, Pat and Delbert Cole, sister Cathie (Kelvin) Hollier and family, Jake (Kasie), Emily, Brandice (Brad), Kensie, Brette; sister Tricia (Jeff) Lelond and family, Dawson, Jaxon and Reese; brother Brad (Stephanie) Cole and family, Anna, Charlotte, Jack and Georgia, mother-in-law Marilyn Hickman, father-in-law Wayne Hickman, sister-in-law Jennifer (Kevin) Lyttle and Cassidy, brother-in-law Troy (Mattie) Hickman and family, Adrie and Drew; grandmother Margaret Taylor.

Pam was predeceased by her grandfather Stuart Taylor, grandfather George Cole and grandmother Irene Cole.

As per Pam’s request, a worship party was held on Monday October 17, 2022 at the Rocanville Community Hall.

Urn bearers were her brother-in-laws, Jeff and Kevin. The urn that Pam was laid to rest in was made by Jeff and Kelvin from an oak tree harvested from the Miniota Valley.

The service was led by Lorna Klassen with words from Tricia, Cathie, Brad H and Brad C.

A private interment took place earlier that day at Webster’s Cemetery in Rocanville.

For those desiring, donations may be made in Pam’s memory to the Pam Hickman Memorial Fund at any Fusion Credit Union Branch
