Walter Donald (Don) Murdoch, born December 19, 1936 in Russell, Manitoba to John Alexander and Emma Murdoch (nee Barke), died April 4, 2023 in the long-term care facility of the Southeast Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin, Saskatchewan.

Don grew up on the family farm near Spy Hill, Saskatchewan, where he farmed with his father in his younger years and remained until he sold the farm and moved to “Spy Hill City,” Saskatchewan. There he worked in road construction for various contractors and then with C. Duncan Construction Ltd.

Don was an avid skier and enjoyed golfing, curling, playing horseshoes, attending country music concerts and making frequent trips to visit his mother’s relatives in Binscarth or Russell, Manitoba, and his sister’s family in Fairlight or Maryfield, Saskatchewan.

He will be fondly remembered for his generous, fun-loving spirit, his singing, guitar playing and colourful turns of phrase, and his love of Lincoln town cars, Stetson hats and all things green or purple.

Donald is predeceased by brother Alex, mother Emma, father Alexander (Sandy), sister Verna Percy and niece Beverlee Percy.

He is survived by: nephew Dale and Janet Percy – families: Tanis and Ian Ihme and sons Corban, Marek and Luke; Natalie Percy and son Huxley; and Clinton Percy; niece Penny and Richard Matte – families: Sarah and Will Jordan and daughter Charlie, sons London and Dutch; Brittney and Scott McDowell and sons Grey and Bohen; great nephew Anthony Covello; nephew Kevin and Yvonne Percy – families: Nicole Percy and son Emmett Marsh; Jenny and Joel Legasse and sons Seth and Brooks; nephew Brad Percy and Maureen Mills; niece Shelley and Chris Boardman, son Calahan and daughter Cara; nephew Cameron and Val Percy, son Thomas and daughters Olivia and Madelaine.
