Robert Alexander McDougall (Bob) passed away in the early hours of Jan. 5, 2013, just two weeks before his 88th birthday.

He was predeceased by his parents Neil (1996) and Mamie (1954), Stepmother Mabel (1990), and by his oldest son Alvin (May 2012), also siblings Norma (Willie), Roy (Joyce), Bill, and in-laws Andrew and Josephine Lonseth, Palmer (Clara) Lonseth, Alvin (Ruth) Lonseth, Wilma Lonseth, and nephew (Brian Ross), great nephew (Daniel McDougall).

Left to cherish many fond memories of Bob are his loving wife Ruth of 63-and-a-half years, daughter-in-law Anne, three sons, Ron (Yvonne), Terry (Peta), Loren (Sheila). Brothers Hugh, Melvin (Jean), Don (Elsie), sisters-in-law, Dell McDougall, Gladys (George) Milne, brother-in-law, Roy (Fran) Lonseth, 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of good friends.

Bob, the eldest son in the family, was born on Jan. 24, 1925 on a farm near Kennedy. Except for one winter spent working for the CNR in Regina, he spent the early part of his life helping his Dad on the farm. In the mid-thirties his family moved to a farm east of Langbank, which Bob later purchased, and it was there Bob began farming on his own.

On July 12, 1949 he married Ruth Lonseth of Dinsmore, Sask., and for the next 62-and-a-half years, the couple enjoyed country living, and the happiness brought by having many good friends. They were blessed with four sons-Alvin, Ron, Terry and Loren. In the fall of 2011 they sold their house, and for two months lived with family in Regina, before moving to their new home in Moosomin. The couple very much enjoyed their year together there. They were visiting family in Regina during the holidays, when Bob was suddenly taken from us.

Funeral service was held in the Moosomin Convention Centre in Moosomin, on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 11 a.m., with Jim Atcheson and Agnes Smiley officiating. Interment was in Moosomin South Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Online messages of condolence may be left with www.carscaddenfuneralchapel.com. Arrangements by G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel, Moosomin.
