Rosa Laura Blondeau was born on July 15, 1930 to Alexander and Victoria Belhumeur in St. Lazare, Man. Rosa grew up in the St. Marthe area where she met and married Alex Blondeau. They resided there until 1959, then moved to Moosomin where she resided until her passing on November 17, 2013.

Rosa was president of the local Metis society for many years. She was an avid homemaker, always making sure to have a cup of tea for friends and family that would stop in to visit. Rosa loved reading and doing her crossword puzzles and, of course, bingo. Rosa loved the time spent with her beloved son Elie and all of her grandchildren, especially during summer holidays and at Christmas.

Rosa is survived by her loving son Elie Blondeau (Kathy); grandchildren Tammy Taypotat (Sam and son Kayllum), Wayne Blondeau, Denise Koloski (Tyler), Kim Taylor (Scott and son Brandon and their mother Florence), Jennifer Quarrell, and great-granddaughter Alia Hennawi; her sisters Irene McKay, Elizebeth Hennawi (Harvey and family); her brothers Rosair, Arthur, Alex and Morris and families; many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Rosa was predeceased by her husband Alex Blondeau; her daughter Bertha Quarrell; infant son Raymond; her sisters Doreen, Rita, Marie, Jean and Suzanne; her brothers Fred and Ted; her parents Alexander and Victoria, and her in-laws Essop and Emma.

Rosa’s funeral service took place in Moosomin, Sask. on November 22, 2013 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed with interment at the North Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel

Rosa will be sadly missed by her beloved son Elie Blondeau and family.
